After seeing rocky's and texasrunner's rigs i'm changing my mind about the 4th gens. They both look awesome & I'm pretty sure if my 97 ever wears out I'll own one. now if they'd ony put a 5sp back in it....

I really like the black wheels (wife says no way) but I also like like white 4runners ,like my first. It's just good to see some 4th gens starting to get the the mods to make them really capable. I agree, they both look great.

 

Both look sweet. 4th gens look so much better when lifted.

 

Hmmm, I think I like Rocky's better, but they both look great. Now I REALLY want to get mine done. Did you two do it yourself?

FirstToy, I have to admit, ever since I first joined and saw your avatar, I have had every faith that the 4th gens could be made to look as nicely as they perform. Yours was the first that I saw with black wheels and ... I don't know, just was inspiring to me.


And kickaha - I put my lift/s on myself. I think TexasRunner had his professionally installed.

I did that avatar way back when I first joined. I had a huge ordeal with the wheels (black Allied beadlocks) that I got rid of (which is why I'm running GX wheels-much happier). I can't believe people think my avatar is real! It looks SO fake to me! I did it as a cartoon-ish thing because everyone was ragging on the 4th gens.
Glad it was inspiring tho!

Yeah if the Teflon AR's were out at the time, I would probably have bought those instead. I came *this* close to powdercoating the GX wheels gunmetal but I got sick of all the turmoil dealing with the wheels and said f-it, just get it done with.

I think you might understand how that goes...

DO you have any rubbing with those tires?? It looks like they stand pretty wide, so watch the rubbing when you go offroad and the suspension flexes.
