Hello I have this nice 4Runner with only 9000 miles on the 22RE. Very well kept only driven when the weather was nice. Clean straight body & inside out. IMO a 4Runner like this is worth more than an FJ40 because it's harder to find. There are so many FJ40's out there in the market already their population is increasing fast making them average cars thus bringing down their values. A 4Runner like this is rare, unique and hard to come by thus increasing in values. Only qualified Toyota Certified Mechanics ever performed the works. Proof of receipts available upon request. This is a better investment than a slumping housing market or ever downing stock market. $19,999 takes her home. Get her now before she disappears. Stop thinking too much and start bidding life is short we don't live forever be happy before we live this world.
Thank you very much for your time and have a wonderful day. God bless!

That price is astronomical. I'll bet someones wife is making them sell their truck. You know "but honey, I've been trying to sell it like oyu told me to, things just aren't moving" LOL

You got to teach me how to transfer ads like that

love this statement
only driven when the weather was nice

Being raised in the N.W. all my life it makes perfect since that there is only 9000 miles and driven only on nice days for the last 19-20 years that equals around 1.2 days a year it was driven wow so in total it has a total of around 30 days in it's life driving.
I would be worried every thing is dry rotted gaskets and tires wise from sitting so long or so much

This was my favorite part:

There are so many FJ40's out there in the market already their population is increasing fast making them average cars thus bringing down their values.

Oh yeah, the population of FJ40's is increasing everyday. They're just a dime a dozen around here.

That's worth about $7-8k in my eyes, and I wouldn't even be the one paying that for it.

emailed him to see if I can look at the truck (since he is PNW) I have got to see a $20K 4runner in person...It is clean but he needs to put down the pipe that is causing him to see FJ40's growing in population.

Don't laugh. I was offered $18K for mine. Seriously. I paid $750 for mine and put in $8K in new parts plus a year's work.

You need to consider the shape of the vehicle and it's rarity. First gens are still very popular and getting harder to find. Also, in my case, the vehicle is restored so it's essentially a new vehicle despite being an 88 model. Try finding a new 4wd as tough as the 1st gens for under $20k.

I would have taken it in a heart beat and started on a new rig. No you can't find a new one, but you can definitely find and old one and pay someone else to fix it up for a fraction of that price.

By that logic mine is worth about 10k, all it needs is paint.

Key statement here is "9,000 miles *on teh 22re*". That dosn't necessarily mean the vehicle only has 9k on it - just that the motor has been replaced.

I'm failing to understand what the value of a snorkel, lift, jerrycans, offroad lights, etc etc is if you are onlygoing to drive it in nice weather. Does that mean none of that stuff has been used, or that they've only been 'wheeling on nice days?

Nice 4Runner but that seems to be a very steep price.

On a lighter note. I didn't know that FJ40s could reproduce????

Try gettin a loan for that from the bank! lol. I could just invision the look of confusion on my bankers face when they look at the Blue Book price on the computer and then at the loan paperwork.

Then if you crash it the insurance company will give you $3k if you're lucky.

Yes it's a drool inducing rig - but you can never expect to get all of the money back you put into a restoration.

is it just me, or does that thing have a little lean to the side?
and someone needs to tell the guy that totalling up the receipts for everything done to it does not make it worth exactly that much more.
it'd cost 1000's to restore that thing to showroom condition, thus reducing it's value.
sure looks good though... well 'cept that rear spare tire / hi-lift mount....
speaking of which... I wonder if he hit exactly 88 mph and had 1.21 gigawatts of power sent through the hi-lift....

"Some of you have sent me emails telling me that my price is ridiculous. I say to you I don't think so. You wanna know what's ridiculous? Those FJ40's that sold for $35k 40k 50k 60k (www.tlc4x4.com) Why? Just because it has yellow color? White color? Blue color? Beige color? Been restored? Fresh paint? Ambulance door? Tinted windows? And a bunch of other knick-knacks? Some of you told me that I should go for $10k. Well maybe so 10 years ago but not today because today everything has gone up. The standard of living has doubled in the past 10 years. Look at fuel price it's not only doubled but tripled."

"By the way I don't go by with Blue Book pricing just so you know, so you may go ahead toss that book in the garbage. "

I think its a nice rig though, but the price is out of the question imo.
Maybe some rich kid will buy it cause his parents can afford it, i don't know

To the ad poster, I can only say "wow" and shake my head. Because 1 company is selling 4R's and LCs at a insane prices, this guy thinks his is up there too.

Dumb part is an appraiser will agree with him... for insurance purposes.
