yoke?

Question yoke?

last night I posted about a noise I somtimes hear under the truck mid range. It dose it in 4th after I shift and let go of the clutch and accelerate. Dosent happen all the time. Well I was searching the web and ran across somthing called a yoke? Never hear of it. how many is there and Can some expline how it works and what it dose when it gose out? And can someone tell me if this might be where the noise is coming from? Sorry for so many questions.. Thanks

I have a 86 pickup 22 re 4x4 case anyone needed to know

I'm guessing it's the yoke on the back of the transfer case that attaches to the rear driveshaft. Some folks have had the nut that holds the yoke onto the transfer case beome a little lose and it'll make some noise.
