I have not seen this done within the threads here, but am looking to see if anyone has done, or has ideas on how to, convert the manual pop out windows in the xtra cab portion of the truck to the electric motor "twist" style. I've seen these a lot in mini vans, and some two door cars (like BMWs). I would love to be able to have better access to these windows opening and closing while driving, but manual pop-outs just aren't it for me.
The wiring and buttons are straight forward, but I am looking for the right motor that is low profile, or worst case, I can wire in reverse and mount the bulky motor within the pillar (cutting the original away to make room). This Denso is kinda close, but hoping this has been done and someone knows a fairly direct motor replacement option.
Follow-up:
Looks like the motor in the pic is from a 98-07 Lexus LX470, or a 98-07 Toyota Land Cruiser. This is the most compact version I have seen of the motor, and this guy has a good video he did in his Lexus.
the idea of power rear windows is kinda' neat...was there ever a power back window offered for the trucks? I have a standard cab, so reaching the back window slider isn't a problem, but I still think having the back window power down behind the seat would be pretty cool

there was an aftermarket available, i am an old fart - a friend of mine had one in his 91 or 92 2wd installed at the deal
you got me curious so since i am a 9th degree blackbelt in i found this: https://breezerwindows.com/product/toyota/

that is pretty neat, but I think I would rather have a window that powers up and down, like the rear window in an old station wagon, than a window that pops out completely
but speaking of windows that friends had in their trucks, I seem to remember my friend had an aftermarket window that was a single piece of tinted glass/plexi that was anchored in the middle and each side would pop out to provide ventilation
I was able to find a couple motors from an LX470 for super cheap ($10 on a Memorial day half off sale!). Fashioned a mounting bracket, and still need some fine tuning, but got it working. I think I will try and repurpose the manual gray bracket as a cover to the motor if possible to hide the motor a bit more. Unfortunately It's gonna be somewhat visible no matter what.
I was also looking for a good rocker switch, but then it dawned on me that the 4runners already have 4 window panel controllers, so why not operate each window separately! So now I will be rewiring a 4runner controller to handle all 4 windows.
Now that all the parts are in hand, I'll post the updates when its working.

did you get the armrest too since the truck window controller mount is longer than the 4Runner mounting plate?
might wanna go back and cut the the wiring pigtail off too so you have all the wiring to go into the controller. way easier than trying to pin the wiring into the plug
