Won't idle

Rebuilt our 22ret in January, and over the last few weeks its been idleing rougher and rougher and coughing pretty hard anytime you try to get up on it. You can keep the thing running but only if you hold the engine over 2k anything lower and it stalls out, I also noticed the turbo sounds like it may be going out when its being spooled. would the turbo giving out cause it to stall out completely when stopped?

Could it be a really bad vacuum leak or a leak in your intake after the air flow sensor?

The plugs are fine, I don't see how the timing would've changed either? We just replaced the set and adjusted all of that in Jan and its been getting worse gradually. I sprayed the thing with ether and found no leaks what so ever however when I attempted to pull the PCV to check I am unable to do so being as it won't for the love of god come out. I had planned on doing a compression test but my compression tester is broke so I am waiting on a buddies.

checked the compression today and it tested 130 across all 4 cylinders, tried to get the PCV out and managed to break the valve cover so that was a waste of time and money.
