windows rough going up and down/ tailgate latch sticky
hey all, I've got an 87' 4runner SR5. I blew the motor and I'm waiting for a long block. I've got a laundry list of little things I want to do while I'm waiting. The first on my list was both windows and tailgate window were really slow and rough going up and down. I have the vent windows, so I think it's the regulators that are extremely hard to get and very expensive. I've never even attempted to take the regulator and motor components apart on any vehicle. Does any one have info to take them apart and clean and lube them?On this note, I'm thinking about just trying to find doors with manual locks and windows. Also the latches on my tailgate can be a booger sometimes. spraying WD40 in there doesnt seem to work any more.
Does any body know good websites to get dash and bezel pieces? The area were my radio is is FUBAR, and were the small speakers go in the dash is kind of torn apart. The junk yards here are no good for yotas. They're stripped clean.
Diagnosing the horn not working?
Were to pick up the type of weather stripping that are on our toys.
Thanks guys. To many little things drive me crazy.

i just used a file on my window rails.
the rubber supposedly gets fatter, and binds sometimes...if thats the case, just make the groove wider, and easier for them to go up/down.
wd40 sucks, try PBBlaster

Silicone spray can make a big difference for your windows going up and down. I use a fired 22 shell for the horn. The contact area on the ring is probably getting worn down. There is more info on the first page on my 88 Runner build listed below.

Vasoline works good for restoring the elasticity in the weatherstripping, I have several radio bezels. What color you looking for? I think I also have the speaker covers in blue it that will help you. shipping depends on your zip code. Let me know if you are interested.
