Why does A/C cut out at idle?

There are two adjustments as I described earlier. The idle up valve adjusts the idle speed and the A/C Amplifier knob adjusts the cutout RPM. They sort of work in concert, the A/C Amp says if RPM > cutout then let the A/C turn on. And if the A/C is on, open the VSV that feeds the idle up valve to boost the idle speed. But if RPM < cutoff, turn the A/C off. Adjust the "RPM" knob on the A/C Amplifier, that is located behind the glove box.

Here are the steps I followed to get mine working

Here's a shot of the AC Amplifier above the glovebox. Thanks, 4Crawler. I have no idea what I'd do without your posts. BTW, starter contacts completely solved my starter issues, so I kept the rest out of respect for all your posts!! (it's just a few cents, but it's the time you're saving, man!!)
