sorry, just gotta lol at this... 150k miles on a vw, and you wanna give me miles? the 91 I just worked on had 176k and my 88 has 248k. the engine that just went in the 91 had over 100k....
so it seems I'm gonna be loaning miles to Matt16 just like the Obama'ites will be taking from the rich and giving to the poor... poor Robin Hood.
maybe I could take some the VW miles from Matt16 and add them to the 250k+ miles I put on my 81 scirocco (after I owned it, without even replacing the clutch) so he feels better about himself, like Al Gore feels good about himself even though his house uses more electricity than anyone in his county and uses more fuel than most people in his state.

edit- changed 'uses more fuel than anyone' to 'uses more fuel than most people'

I win

1. 418xxx
2. 3.0L
3. '93 PU, 4x4, MT
4. Still matching numbers.
5. Totaled once. You should have seen the other guy.
6. HG recall at 90k. Then valve job at 240k. Truck totaled at 270k and rebuilt with crap parts. New HG again at 320k (leaking oil into the top of the engine?). Bottom end of engine has never been in to, and yes the rings are shot. It has low oil pressure and drinks a quart about every 1,000 miles.

R150 chewed up a bearing cage at 370k. Marlin Crawler screwed me on getting a rebuilt one, so I rebuilt mine myself with all new factory bearings and syncros.

It's got 418k right now, but I just parked it tonight do to 10psi compression in #1 cylinder. Exhaust valve is excessively tight. Can't fit feeler gauge between cam and shim. I am not sure what is going on. I am hoping a correct size shim will fix it. All other cylinders are 160-170 psi.

Next to this problem, the truck is well used, but is still a great daily driver. And I drive 3,000+ miles a month.

Original owner? Horse damage is sort of unique, I would have left it as it.

yes, original owner. Drove it off the lot with seven miles on it.

I was driving in open country in Arizona and this horse comes out of nowhere. I slow down to let it cross the highway and it kicks my passenger side front fender. The fender and parking light had to be replaced.

And another problem was some punk kid broke the back sliding window to get into my truck to steal some CDs and my change out of the ash tray. The replacement that I got from the 'recommended' glass shop is terrible.

my 88 4Runner: 236K (rounded down to the nearest 1000) miles @ 7085 feet elevation (donner pass)
that would seem to me to be the "highest" odometer reading so far.
