4. Still matching numbers.
5. Totaled once. You should have seen the other guy.
6. HG recall at 90k. Then valve job at 240k. Truck totaled at 270k and rebuilt with crap parts. New HG again at 320k (leaking oil into the top of the engine?). Bottom end of engine has never been in to, and yes the rings are shot. It has low oil pressure and drinks a quart about every 1,000 miles.

R150 chewed up a bearing cage at 370k. Marlin Crawler screwed me on getting a rebuilt one, so I rebuilt mine myself with all new factory bearings and syncros.

It's got 418k right now, but I just parked it tonight do to 10psi compression in #1 cylinder. Exhaust valve is excessively tight. Can't fit feeler gauge between cam and shim. I am not sure what is going on. I am hoping a correct size shim will fix it. All other cylinders are 160-170 psi.

Next to this problem, the truck is well used, but is still a great daily driver. And I drive 3,000+ miles a month.
holly crap, thats a lot of miles i think we need an picture of the odometer

i thought my 258k miles was high

Note, here's the layout:
  1. mileage in miles
  2. what engine?
  3. vehicle specs
  4. let us know if its got a new engine, transmission, diffs, frame even
  5. any accidents (carfax tells me mine's had 6! haha)
  6. cool facts about your high mileage truck/ 4Runner

Note: for the Canadians, there are 1.6km to the mile, just convert it for our American friends.

Here goes:
  1. 174xxx mi
  2. 22RE
  3. 1990 4runner 5spd
  4. new head, its broken its timing chain at least twice. I've got new reason to assume anything else major has broken ever.
  5. 6 accidents (insurance claims) before I purchased it and then I tipped it on its side. I still runs great and tracks straight.
  6. I did the timing chain, fuel filter with one hand out of commission. I also once got 26 mpg coming back from a fishing trip some 200 miles away.

(Now if Billy has 200K, he posts it up, if he has 150K, he doesn't, got it?)
I'll lay out the rules once again. I don't want to hear about your rig unless it has more than 418K unless it has a REALLY good story like it was at 417K and got hit my a comet.

And PROVE your milage. It's easy to say you have 176xxx miles. Anybody can say that. Prove it, take a pic of your dash/cluster area.....or your high milage story didn't happen.

that would seem to me to be the "highest" odometer reading so far.
225k at 13,765 ft (Mount Antero in the Collegiate Peaks - you can hike the rest of the way to over 14,000)

If that's not high enough, I guess I'll have to run down to Pikes Peak where you drive over 14000 ...

I have a photo of the dash when it hit 300k and 400k. I will take another one tomorrow.
My biggest problem is always trying to pass CA smog. The test gets harder and harder every year. Last time, I replaced the cat with a factory unit. The truck ran so clean, the smog guy spent over an hour trying to figure out how I was cheating.

Our trucks have got to be some of the only passenger vehicles ever made that have the life span of a big rig...

You're all hooped...

http://groups.google.com/group/alt.a...6075cebf391875

And this is just plain awesome...
http://jalopnik.com/cars/novelties/t...uns-136733.php

and to the OP...Settle down kid, stop being such a little whiner.

It's cool to see ALL highmilage numbers, I'd be more proud that there are that many of us with over 250K on trucks that get abused like alot of ours do, sure can't say that about any GM products. Quit bitching about your rules.

Cheers

Dave
