Who can guess what happened here?
During a head gasket instal if you end up with this:
WTF happened?
I'll give you a hint:
I can laugh about it now, but at the time I could have and would have killed someone if they got too close to me.

Be very careful where you drop washers. I just about puked when I realized what happened and how much extra work I had created with that one stupid move. Live and learn I guess.....

Great picture, really sums it up.
How long did it take to drop the pan?
How long did it take for you to realize that you had no choice but to drop the pan?

you need to invest into some jack stands my friend
that sux man, but at least you did the right thing and got it outta there; I know plenty of people that wouldn't said "ah screw it, it hit the pan, it'll be ok"

lol you know I was fishing with that thing for quite a while before I gave in and knew I had to drop the pan. I wanted to make damn sure the pan absolutely HAD TO come down before I tore into it. It took dropping the differential, steering stabilizer and the steering from idler to pitman to get the pan out. Set me back a few hours, not counting the hour or so I spent cussing, yelling and fishing with the magnet....not to mention the shop vac. That damn washer wasn't coming out the easy way.

That's next on the "tools to buy list". Funny because I've been using these cheapy widow maker jacks for years and have swapped countless motors/trans and tons of other jobs with those jacks. I really need a set of jack stands and a good hydro jack though.

All back together and better than ever.
You can see the Thorley exhaust sticking down a bit. I don't really like it that low, but there isn't alot I can do about it. I just hope it doesn't catch on something out on the trails. I have no exhaust right now so it's just the headers and it sounds insane, especially at about ~3k. It still seems to have a bit of a stumble/miss that I can't seem to figure out. All of the valves/seals, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, plugs and gaskets are all new so I don't know what's left to replace?
