If it's any consolation, at least the guy didn't clean the heads and deck surface with a scotchbrite roloc wheel like the rebuilder on my Camry 3VZ did. They were 0.010" out of spec and all the edges were rounded... blew the head gaskets on startup. Wouldn't cover it under warranty because he claimed there was no way he did that.

FWIW, the exhaust didn't smell like coolant on that either, just smelled sooty. I even tasted the water dripping from the exhaust to see if it was coolant (don't do that, I'm a professional idiot) and it didn't taste sweet.

 

I'm finally getting this motor put back in and I broke a couple of parts. I'm looking for a fuel line for the cold start and a BVSV valve....anyone got these to spare?
