Where does this plug go?

This has been unplugged since I bought the truck. I've looked for the male end of the connection all over the area where the plug is hanging, but there doesn't seem to be anything unplugged.

I'm stumped, any ideas as to what it plugs in to? It's a 1994 Pickup 22RE.

Mine also is just hanging around. I don't think it goes anywhere. Might be for California emissions or A/C, both of which my truck doesn't have.

i think i have the same plug hanging there, but mine is a green colored socket. i didn't think it was a big deal, but i took it to my local toyota truck guy and he said that it should be plugged into the back of the manifold for an egr temp sensor. mine, seems to be blocked off and won't be able to pass calif. smog. there is no check engine light, but he showed me his 22re and it's plugged into the back. i'm just going to have it fixed when i get the headers installed since i have to do a smog in a couple months anyways. i bought the 4runner two weeks ago and the guy who rebuilt shouldn't have had a wrench in his hand (quote from the mechanic). the vacuum lines were all messed up and wires were dangling, but at least the motor was put together well. the vacuums are all sorted and my gas mileage is waaaaay up; the only thing left is the wire to the temp guage that i have to reroute.

I have one that also hangs around. I thought it was to go somewhere, but one of my co-workers (I work at the Toyta service dept.) assured me it doesn't go anywhere. It's kinda like one of your loser friends who hangs around for nothing.

check out the fsm links stickied at the top of this page, tnrabbit, post #9 has a link to the 93 truck fsm. dig around in the 22re engine sect'n and you should find everything you need.

javadoody's pic shows exactly what i'm missing at the back of the manifold and where that green plug is supposed to go for at least my truck. i just have a regular elbow without the sensor.

Hmmm, and I just have a bolt screwed in right there. Truck seems to run fine though, so I guess I won't worry about it.
