A little off topic here but that set up reminds me of the axle driven pipe threader that my great grandfather had. You would jack up on side of the rear axle and pull the wheel/tire off and bolt on this contraption that had teeth in it (like a large die), then insert the pipe and put the truck in gear. You'd then have someone hold the pipe with a pipe wrench and let the truck thread the end.

They stopped using it after a couple of farm hands got crippled......

 

I have a big locked box bolted to the bed of the 4runner. What I carry on a daily basis.

Fluids, basic tools (socket set, screwdrivers, bfh etc), shovel, machete ($5 at harbor frieght), tow straps, gallon of water, towels, first aid kit and other misc stuff.

Stuff I add for wheeling: More fluids, More tools, clothes and food.

 

As of yet, I've not built one for my Yota. Only my Jeep, different bolt pattern. But on the Jeep I've had no negligible effects other than bending her a little. I don't think it would work real well if your rig was really heavy. But I don't think I've seen a toyota reach "really heavy" yet.

Works just fine on my 1979 J10 Pickup. She's got dual dana 60's and a weight of over 6000lbs. Just always take her slow just in case.
