What power difference would I see?

What power difference would I see?

These are the cam specs I have now which I find a bit odd.
Dur deg. @ .050
int. 220 exh. 220
Valve lift .431 .431

What difference in power would I see by switching to a trd cam?
262° 272°
Duration @.050 lift
214°/224°

.416" 0.430"

You are showing 2 different cam deg for the TRD, Which ones are the real TRD or is there 2 differnt versions with the same lift?
The 262/272 Should show a good change, With only minor loping at idle.
The 214/224 looks to be a stock replacment Makine the power band wider only by a hair.
In your signiture your already showing a S2 cam, why would you be looking?
From What I see you should be looking into the 22RT intake.

If you do nothing else but swap the cam I doubt you'll even know you did anything. You'd have to dyno it before and after to see the difference.

With all of your other mods you should be about as far into the 22re as you can get.

Which TRD cams are those? I ran the TRD Stage II, all it did was lope the idle (actually got asked if I had a 350 under the hood, frequently) and drop the mileage. I didnt really notice that much of a power gain. Stick with a mild cam if you cam it....

Here is the link that I was provided awhile back with the trd specs on it. That's what I was going off of. The duration on mine seems a bit odd to me. Mine is a custom grind and it said it was 272 on the box but still, I am wondering about the other cam. I Don't think I would see a huge difference if any but, curiosity

I have the Crane Cams stage 2 cam in my truck and I don't have any loping at idle and I really don't think it made a huge difference either. It's just one single part in a multi part system to make the truck run better.

Crane makes the cams for TRD that they rebrand. The only difference is that TRD gets them ok'd for use in CA where I think Crane does not.

Here's the cam I have, it's the .272/.282 cam TRD sells:

Crane cam 704-0012

I'm sure it helped, but its the same old 22re still...

Guys messing with cams just remember that your heads aren't going to flow much air beyond 4900 or so... So you want a cam that really impacts torque and HP early, which is where you need it while driving. If you peak early, you'll fall off harder, it's about a trade off. You're talking about a 3-7 hp difference peak, so don't expect a huge difference.

Do some mild port work (intake side) & Ted's .5mm over stainless valves if you're on a budget, header, and decent exhaust.. The head itself needs to be worked for significant power gains.

I had a buddy that had a 22re years ago & put a TRD cam in it. It loped really badly, until he put a TRD header on it. That really seemed to clean up the idle, and the power was definitely improved. He never had it dyno'd, but you could feel the difference.

Anyone else used the DOA C270 cam?

Jeff Mosk uses it, and said he likes it, and I noticed Bob_98SR5 uses a DOA cam(don't know which), and said he likes it. I'm just trying to figure if the $155 for the DOA cam is worth it over the $88 for an EB cam.

What stage cam is that? IMO, 282 duration is too much for a 22RE. You need a mild cam to compliment the long stroke/torquy characteristics of the 22RE. Too much duration is a bad thing.
