What is this part?

3VZ-E engine. Driver side under exhaust manifold. Leaks oil like Valdez.
What is the blasted part?
What does it do?
Is it replaceable?

This is your oil cooler. If it is leaking Anti Freeze, then your hoses are bad (the hoses go to the block and the water pump). If it is leaking oil, the bolt gasket or o-ring may be bad. Pretty easy fix if you can get to the oil cooler. Just undo the bolt, and replace the gasket.

Yeah,it's leaking oil pretty good and..in a mighty hard to get to location.

i just did mine while the engine was out of the truck (had to do a rebuild), but i am guessing that you may be able to access that by taking off the left tire. If not, it is just the bolt in the center of the cooler, you pic looks like you have easy access to that.

Toyota has the o-rings...the parts stores do not..I had the same issue..there are three o-rings in the set..run you about 12 bucks..not too bad..but it is an expensive set of rubber o-rings!

I just did it w/ the engine in the bay...but I have a 3" BL. Not the worst job in the world, but I could not find the parts at NAPA or carquest, so I found them at http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214074
