What part is this?

While removing the head I accidentally broke a wire. The wire leads a to cylinder with a a snap clip just in front of the oil filter. It has a rubber boot about 1.5" indiameter that goes over the connection. I will try to post a pic later if I can. Thanks in advance for any help.

Also, any way I could possible solder the wires together while I'm waiting for the part, or would there be impedence issues? Thanks again

Pic will help, but a guess maybe the oil sender. Should be able to solder with no problem.

Here are the pics

This is the wire with harness and dustcap

This is where the harness attaches. it clips onto the shiny brass looking connector ontop of the cylinder which is in front of the oil filter and to the lower right of that bolt. thanks by the way it is a 1992 4runner with a 3.0 V6

Thanks
