Weber adapter problem

Hi,I just bought a redline weber kit for my 87 22r 4x4 pickup and it came with a universal adapter . The problem is that the narrowest mounting holes on the adapter are too wide to fit the mounting holes on my manifold. I called the people that I got the kit from and they told me that it SHOULD fit,I told them that it doesnt and they said that it SHOULD and hung up. Has anyone ever run in to this problem before? My truck is a California model, would it have a different bolt pattern on the carburetor? I hate to spend more money on a specific adapter for a 22R and still have it not fit.Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanx,Guy

Is it a 1-piece adapter or a 2 piece? ALso make sure you have it on right. BOlt holes are not square. You may be trying to put it on backwards. Try turning it around 180 degrees and see if holes line up.

wrong way

right way

don't feel bad I did the same thing when I put mine one, which is why I have photos of it the right and wrong way.
