Water in the tail gate/dumb jeep drivers
It snowed in over here today, and I was loading up the dogs in my 4Runner. We've had around 12 inches of rain over the past week. When I opened the tailgate, I could hear water sloshing around. I can't find drain holes in there either. I did see some flowing out the bottom after I shut it, though. I'm guessing this isn't normal, or good. lol
Hope there's no damage in there. The window still works, and I don't have rear defrost.
Also, up in the mountains, I saw some idiots in a Jeep Commanche trying to winch a Pathfinder out of the ditch. Apparently they thought it was a good idea to winch with the engine off. They had to get a jump start because their battery went dead running the winch. Then they tried to pull the Pathfinder out in 2WD. What a bunch of idiots. I asked if they needed some help(a dumb question for a bunch of jeep guys) and they said they had it handled. There were about 5 people there including me that would have been able to push the Pathfinder out of the ditch, but instead the Jeep guys just made fools out of themselves. I watched this for a good 10 minutes, since it was a snow covered one lane dirt road. Just figured I'd share that with you guys.

you can take the tailgate off of a 4 runner pretty easy right? like a truck?? if so ide drill some real small drain holes in the bottom incase this happens again, so it all drains out pretty quick, and did you have ur tailgate up or down when it got the water in it? if it was up i would guess the outside glass weather stripping is ....

No 4Runner tailgates are a pain to remove. They have a tension wire that helps lift the weight. There are two main drain holes in the corners by the hinges and 3 holes close to the middle, if these are clogged the gate won't drain.
