Vibrations on highway decel
Ive been having a little issue with my 93 pickup. My pickup has been having vibrations when exiting or slowing down on the highway. Its been like this for a while but not this bad. It feels like it might be the front but im not 100% sure.
When slowing down between probably 70-40 mph my truck shakes, this is when in gear and in neutral coasting. When its shaking if I give it gas it goes away until I let off the gas. I have the front hubs unlocked and the rest of the truck is stock.
Any ideas on what it could be?

U-joints possibly, also check for play in the splines that allow the driveshaft to expand & compress.
Next would be transfer case output & the pinion, there will be evidence of oil leaking if either of those are worn out...

My 4 Runner is doing the exact same thing, i'm 99.999% positive it's my transfer case... it really sloppy.
I'm at least replacing the bearing/seal but I have a good T-case I may just put in for now and rehab/rebuild the bad one for a dual setup in another project or something.

Mine is definitely the output shaft... I can grab it and see a lot of movement. The other T-case I have is solid, no slop whatsoever, I thought it was u-joints too till I took a better look.
I'm feeling some of these same vibes in my '88 too but it's very mild and didn't start until I had to put another tranny in it so i'm thinking it may have the same problem. The '88 is about to undergo a major renovation, motor/trans, paint, interior, suspension, etc., as soon as I build my shop so it's low on the to-do list right now.

Alright so I finally had a chance to take a look at it. I noticed that there is some play on the driveshaft at the u joints.
I dont really know too much about driveshafts since I havent had to deal with them before.
What can I do to fix this? Can I unbolt it and take it to a shop and get it fixed or should I just find another one in a wrecking yard?
