I am getting some vibration from around the driveshaft at high speeds when I let off of the throttle. Then I hit the gas again and it clunks very mildly and the vibration stops. It's almost like an engage and disengage deal if you understand that analogy. What may cause this? I am assuming it's pinion angle. I have a '95 4runner, auto, sr5, 3.0 with a 4" suspension lift and 33" x 12.5" tires.

That is suppossedly a common problem with 3.0 auto runners. I remeber reading about it when I installed my procomp on my runner.

You might be able to get adjustible upper links and slightly correct the pinon angle, and have a CV shaft made. You can only adjust the pinon angle so much because of panhard bar mounting on the back of the axle, if you rotate it too much the panhard bar can bind when you flex.

EDIT: I forgot to add that I had a similar vibration on my runner when I did a leaf swap, fixing the pinon angle solved the problem

First thot: U-joints. High driveshaft angle due to the lift puts extra stress on 'em. Get under there and shake 'em good. Any play at all, and you' ve prolly found your clunking. They likely won't live too long after they start this kinda wear.
