vacuum leak

vacuum leak
hi everyone i just got my 1989 toyoya truck 4x4 3 slow motor back from the shop and they said i had a vacuum leak.i dont know where to start.they said it has a bad idle and the motor shakes alittle.where do i start and can a vacuum leak hurt my motor and hurt my hp????please help
