I know that the 4.88 gears from a factory V6 will not swap into the 4cyl 3rd. But I'm not sure about the other gear ratios.

you cannot put v6 gears into a 4 cyl carrier, but you CAN put 4 cyl gears in a v6 carrier

well i sent zuk a pm and he said that you can swap v6 gears into a 4cyl 3rd.
this is what he sent me back.

(Ya....did you know that your 22RE 94 has V6 gears in that 4 cylinder 3rd? V6 pinion heads are longer...so the key to making them work is a "shorter inner bearing" so use the oem 90366-35044-77 inner bearing with a 4 cyl carrier.)

V6 carrier will fit in the 4 cyl axle housing.
I swapped a set of V6 4.56 diffs into my 4 cyl truck. No problems or modifications needed. Drop in mod.

Hey Yotamonster-
Just coincidentally, I just now received this info from the guys at http://justdifferentials.com
http://www.nitro-gear.com/articles/

They are dis-continuing "4 cyl" gears in the Nitro line and selling only the "V6" versions. Note that calling them V6 gears is a bit mis-leading but all it means is they have a thicker or longer pinion head. ZUK
