Are V6 diffs a direct swap for a 4 cylinder?

Very very curious. I blew the rear diff on my 87 4runner(non turbo). There is a seller 200 miles south of me selling F&R 456 diffs out of a 93 V6. Looking at outside pictures, I can see the difference, aren't they still 8'' ring gear? Will the rear V6 diff bolt into my 4 cylinder housing, and will the axle shafts still go into the diff(same spline count?)

What about the front, if the rear is swappable, I'll need the 456 front to be a direct swap also. Other wise I wont have 4wd for a while.

Don't forget to match the front ratio to the rear.

Trying to look. Are they going to be a direct swap? are the mountings going to be the same? what about the CV axles. will they mount up the same.

any input appreciated, im leaving tomorrow morning to drive the 400-500 miles to get em.

It looks like the ADD type you may have to swap axle tubes from yours and may need a axle on one side from the dealership.I did a swap like this on my 88 IFS and you should be okay for your swap.

Please see gears link in my sig. You can swap axle tubes, or you can bypass the add setup. Also has threads on how to swap the thirds, and you will not have issues swapping them. Direct swap. I have a v6 4.56 rear diff in my 87 4runner.
