V6 Automatic Transmission Removal

How do you remove the tranny in a 91 V6 Automatic? I've read places that you remove the transfer case and transmission as a unit, is that correct? Can you remove them separately? Also, I was looking on alldata and it wasn't much help but it made it look like you had to take the front diff out, is that true?

I tried searching the forum but couldn't really find anything. If there's a DIY thread or how to out there can someone link me to it?

To remove the auto tranny they come out as on piece as they are integrated. The front diff doesn't need to be removed. You will need to disconnect the battery, the starter, the wiring harness, shift linkages, tranny cooler lines, driveshafts, then you can remove the crossmember and then the bell housing bolts.
