upper radiator hose

I was messing around in my engine bay (91 4runner) the other day and noticed it looked like some coolant had oozed out of the end of the upper radiator hose. I squeezed the hose and it feels like its empty. Should there be fluid in the hose when the truck is off? I didn't think so but I was told otherwise. Would anyone mind checking theirs and see if it feels like there is fluid in it?

As the cap is above the hose if your coolant level is correct .

There will be coolant in the hose.

In other words pull the hose off coolant will come out.

If it is under pressure that is something else.

There should be fluid in the hose, but as wyoming9 said, it's at atmospheric pressure. So with a light touch you can squeeze it. If you want to squeeze it a lot, you only need to over come the radiator cap (13psi) and the fluid will go into the overflow reservoir.
