upgrading the armor on my '95 4Runner.

After looking around for aftermarket gas tank skidplates, and even ideas for building my own, I decided to add a little bit of protection to the stock skidplate. I cut out a piece of 3/16" plate and layed it on on the bottom of the plate and welded it to the stock skidplate along the sides, and rosette welded it through the holes in the bottom of the OEM plate. I added a 1" x 3/16" piece along the the stock mounting locations, and then used cardboard to make a template to cut the pieces to join the mounting points to the bottom. Not the most awesome skidplate ever, but a nice simple upgrade, and it'll do for the wheelin' I do.Here are some pics.

I'll try to post some tomorrow. I have to put it back on the lift to change the o2 sensor.
