Hey guys,

I have searched and cannot really find out anything defenite.

So here it goes.....I thought I would ask the quesiton.....are there any throttle body upgrades that are plug and play for the straight intake plenum on a 22re motor?

I am going to do the 82 AFM upgrade and wanted to do a throttle body upgrade too. I heard that you can use the throttle body off of a celica or supra but I cannot find anything that confirms that and for which year.

Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

You probably heard that the '82 TB might be possible from me. There's a guy on here who's tried to do it, and he was unsuccessful I believe. At minimum, he had to mod the heck out of the TB and I'm not sure he ever got it to work.

If either of you find out which TB works be sure and send me a PM. So far the limiting factor on my 4runner is the factory TB and I'd like to swap in a larger one to match the Supra AFM at the same time I do the exhaust. More air in, more air out.

 

go buy a used one and have it bored out and a new throttle blade made for it... a machine shop would probably do it for under 100 bucks...

Thanks Scuba...but the 300 bucks is hard on the wallet right now. There has to be a larger toyota throttle body from another toyota make that is plug and play and will give better performance.
