Type of power steering fluid?

I got a 1987 pickup and im not sure what kind of fluid to use, i have been told ATF and power steering fluid? does it matter what one i use?

Yes it matters. You need Dextron 3 ATF. It will tell you that in the owners manual and on the cap of the power steering reservoir.

it just says toyoda on the reservoir and i dont have a owners manual

Yes, Auto Trany Fluid, Dextron II or above. Get yourself an owners manual, a must have for any vehicle in my opinion, and a Service Manual, both can be found on ebay for a reasonable price and invaluable for info.
