hey there. im having a problem with my truck. today all of a sudden my singals stopped working but my hazards work. im stumped. i checked the fuse under the hood and its fine. the fuse inside the truck its fine. i dont know what to look for next. any help is greatly appreciated

 

there is a relay in the fuse block on the drivers side by your feet.CHeck that.

 

i only saw fuses in the fuse blcok but ill look again

 

could be your grounds....

 

could be the switch itself on the steering column

 

above the fuses there ia a round relay.

 

double check the bigger fuses under the hood, the square ones

 

hey all i know this thread is old but im having somewhat the same problem.. i have an 80 truck and my hazzads work and the turn signals will turn on but they dont blink. both front and back lights come on but they dont flash.. i checked fuses inside the cab, still intact.. i didnt see a relay or the fuses inside the hood. any help would be greatly appreaciated!! thanks!!

 

Sounds like the flasher is no longer flashing. I'm not sure exactly what it looks like or where it is on an 80's truck, but in general they are round or square, about 1"X1" and located under the dash. On my 92 its tucked up under the dash a ways on the drivers side but still attached to the fuse block under the dash. There should be two of them. One for the turn signal and one for the hazards. Occasionally I've seen the hazard flasher on the back of the fuse block instead of the front with the turn signal flasher. Try to remember where the clicking used to come from and go to that area as the clicking is from the flasher.

You can also test the flasher by exchanging it with the hazard flasher since MOST of them are the same. If your turn signal now works but your hazards only stay on then you need a new flasher.

Check the fuses under your dash.
I blew the fuse for my dash lights, which blows your blinkers.
Hazards worked, blinkers didnt.
Also, check to make sure you don't have any shorts in wiring on your blinkers.
If you just did the mod to put them in the operating light housing, then you probablly blew the fuse.
