Turbo Gauge Cluster

Does anyone know where to get a turbo gauge cluster, and does anyone know if it is compatable with a 88 3.0L v6?? my cluster has a speedo and a tach. Does anyone know if i can convert to the turbo gauges, and can anyone get ahold of one?

so the only way this would work would be to start with a 22re truck that had a tach?

I just bought a cluster with a turbo light below the tach - is this not interchangeable with my deluxe cluster? I just need a cluster with a tach....

In my experience, turbo clusters donot work in non-turbo trucks. The wiring is way different.

I haven't tried it, but the ECU wiring is very close. The FSM has the pin out of the cluster connector, so it would be best to check there.

The deal is that with a V6 truck, the calibration of the tach is going to be off if you go 4 cyl cluster. The V6 tachs are adjustable for use with a 4cy, but not the other way around. Might be possible if you know something about circuit design.

If you want the "cyberdyne" setup - go aftermarket, you can get stuff that looks very simliar.. A little alum plate, some aftermarket gauges and you're good to go.

Based on the info in this thread it would appear that the Digital Turbo gauge pack is totally different.

We have a 87 Turbo A/T 4runner with digital gauges. We want to put a 86 Turbo 5sp SR5 with Analog gauges. Has anyone actually performed this task ?
Is anyone sure that there isn't a patch-cable connecting between the 2 different styles ? My 86 FSM leads me to believe that may be the case.

Digital Gauges would be availible for sale soon.

hate to bring up an old thread but what about a motor swap into a tubo vehicle? I'm trying to do a gen III chevy swap and want to keep the turbo cluster. I'm selling the motor and the guy wants the ECM, is the ECM required for the gauge?

If memory serves me correctly the only connection between the cluster and ECM is the check engine light and the 4wd light.

If it's the digi cluster then I think it has a separate box that controls the cluster.

dash swap

Hi guys,

when I did my 3rz swap into my 22re 86 4runner, I swapped to the digital dash.

I used the 86 4runner EWD book.

everything works great except the fuel gauge always reads empty.
the sender is either different or wired different. I haven't troubleshooted further.

overall it was an easy swap.
get the connectors for the digital dash, as they are different. Easy to wire though.

if anyone needs more info, I may be able to find the notes I had made.

good luck,
thanks!
