Trying to get a straight answer about fitting 35"s

I bought a set of 35 X 12.50. And i have an 86' 4runner. Some people said that a 2" lift (using BJ spacers and rear leafs) will fit the 35"s, others say that I'll have to do a 4" lift. So what is it? I did some research but couldn't really find much. Thanks guys!

i would do bj spacers and body lift man. its alot cheaper than the drop bracket and should fit the 35's perfect.

So you say bj spacers up front and the 2" leafs in the rear plus a body lift? Link for the body lift?

well my set up is the bj spacers,3" add a leaf, 3" performance accesories body lift, and some t-bar crank. i fit my dads 35x13.50 baja claws with out rubbing. i know 4crawler, performance accesories, and summit racing all sell body lifts.

35s are going to rub wheeling like a fat chick in cordoroy pants with 2" of lift on IFS without some major trimming.

33s will work well.

Here's my 2" lift kit:

You have confirmed my thoughts. I will just try and trade my 35"s for 33"s. And i have been planning on using your 2" lift. Thank you for the help.

I already saw your thread for trading for some 33s... i think you'd be happier with 33s... I have 33x10.50s with no lift. i'd get some 33x12.50s with a 2" lift if i were you.

you'll have to start the search string over but there are a huge list of kits and other parts

nice catch wabbit

however looks at his footnote:

NOTE:
*IFS Front End started 09/1985
*Differential Drop recommended to prevent CV Boot tearing

wouldn't that make in 86 model year?

and what about the fact he lists as 89 as well, didn't the rear leafs change in 89?

yeah, if i had my choice to buy something from 2 different vendors, i think i might buy from the guy who knows yotas like it grew on him, not from a fat guy who likes jeeps.
