did you check your wiring for continuity between to the pump location?

I suppose I would sound slighty "dumb" if I were to ask how to check for continuity?

with a multimeter, set for either continuity test, or ohms/resistance at lowest scale.
usually, with the first, the meter beeps, with the second, the reading will be @ or very near 0.
so, you connect one probe lead to one end of the wire, and the other lead to the other end of the wire (you might need to make an 'extension' so you can actually reach both ends of the wire) and the meter should display 0 or beep. also, check for continuity to ground and other wires in the same section of the harness just to make sure the wires aren't shorting to ground or each other.

85 22RE won't start when warm

New long block put in my 85 truck same problem as before truck will fire right up when cold but wants to die right away unless you keep giving it gas or peddle to stay running once you take off and it warms up runs a little rough and also has high idle but still runs non the less but once you shut it off it does not want to start it fires like it wants to but then will die, this is weird but if you push the peddle down all the way and turn the key it will fire but you need to let off the peddle right away. the only way I can get it to fire back up unless I spray starting fluid in the throttle body.

I have an 87 pickup with fuel injection non turbo. I have gone through the fuel tank its clean has a new fuel filter on the block I hooked up a toggle switch to the fuel pump and can hear it running and sounds like fuel is returning to the tank I can hear fuel going through the fuel lines truck will start run for a second and die. if i step on the gas it dies instantly. i pulled the cold start injector and it is spraying fuel for a second then stops. i can keep it running on carb cleaner. what could be the issue? fuel pressure regulator? computer? sensor? i have heard all these options on a few web sites but no defenate answer. please help I need this truck running this weekend.
