truck won't start

truck won't start

So I put a new battery in my 86 and now the truck won't start....I had it started two days ago and pulled it in the garage and now it won't tuen over. Oh yea - the stereo won't come on either. Thanks

Ok - false alarm on the engine - I got er to fire but my stereo still won't come on

check fuses. there might be a blown fuse inside the stereo that could be blown too

I checked the back of the stereo and there is not a fuse - not sure what to do - thanks

did you check to see if there is power getting to the stereo at least? might be time to pick up a multimeter if you dont already have one

Factory stereo? Could be the anti theft system. Nothing you can do about that short of taking it to the dealer, don't think resetting those is public knowledge. If you're lucky and have the owners manual the code might be written there, assuming they followed the directions when they set the code it tells you t write it down there.

Definately verify you have a power supply at the stereo plug, it'll give you a general idea of what is going on.

Did you check the fuse to the radio? Should be behind the kick panel next to the driver door

Haha yes - when I pulled the stereo initially I did not see the fuse - I got er working. Thanks!
