Unhappy

So far the most money for the truck I found I can get is $3,500 from the cars (www.cars.gov/) program using it to purchase a 2009 Toyota. But the Tacoma 4x4 V6 Manual sure isn't cheap. $25k~$29k MSRP

I spun a bearing and I have some pictures of what things looked like inside in my rebuild thread. I had a bunch of metal shavings at the bottom of the pan, and in my case, the crankshaft was too far out of spec to be saved. I did the whole machine job and rebuilt it myself, but I pulled the engine out to do it.

Here, a picture of the endcap at my bad bearing:

So if a spun bearing means (you/I/we) need new engines, how can this be prevented? It seems pretty common for these 3VZ's

Also, when doing a swap, what all should be replaced?
- Timing belt?
- Oil pump?
- All new gaskets
- Engine oil cooler?

is that all needed? Is there more that should be replaced when doing a swap?
