Truck fuel pump replacement

Just wondering if their is a way to drop the tank out from underneath the truck for a fuel pump replacement, or if the whole bed has to come off.

I dropped the tank out of my 92 when I had the new spring hangars welded on for the 56" leaves. Not that hard. I did it in the welders parking lot with basic tools...

I take it then that removing the bed is not necessary ? It can be dropped from underneath ?

No its not necessary, but now that I am thinking about if you have a friend a bed is probally way easier to remove than the tank itself. The bed only has 6 bolts and two wire looms...Thats proablly what I would do.
