Truck Configurations

Hello Toyota Truck Sages,

please help me with what I think will be a simple question. I am looking to buy a 4x4 or Tacoma manual, 4 cylinder extra cab. WITH power package, windows, locks etc. Have found plenty beautiful examples meeting most of this criteria but usually if it has power package its a V6, and I don't need a large engine/want to save money on gas. I found one 4cyl 95 Tacoma with power package but single cab.

The question is: Is this just a configuration problem? were 4cyls not sold with power package? Please advise. Maybe there's a year I need to be looking for in particular?

Much appreciated

I'm sure they're out there, just not in great numbers.
Buyers who want all the "bells and whistles" typically would want the bigger engine. The 4cyl Tacoma was often pretty bare so dealers could advertise a "as low as.... "or starting at..."
Also, a fully loaded 4cyl ran the risk of sitting on the lot too long, and that is a huge no-no for a dealer. Their turnover of inventory is watched very closely.

yes, 4 bangers were offered loaded out with all the options. also, to be honest the early v6 trucks werent much worse on gas than the I4 trucks. if anything i would want the 22re over the 3.0 BUT you mentioned tacoma, and if i had the option of a 3.4 i would always say HELL YES. that motor is fantastic. if your looing at tacos you should definitely ask the guys in the other thread though.

Thanks keycw and Jimkola!

I actually just realized the same thing about early V6 gas consumption. Hopefully checking out a 91 4x4 V6 3.0 today. It has power windows and a moon roof that looks sweet, surprisingly glossy black too
