When you say "makes", do you mean you are looking at other beds from ford or chevy? I wouldn't recomend the ford swap if thats what your doing. If you have the money, a member on here named Corey makes real nice fiberglass beds for an 88. But if your on a budget like me. Get yourself a 89-95 bed.

Heres mine after the swap

^ Even finding an '89-95 bed sucks. I've been looking and can't find any in my area. I need a new bed pretty bad.

I've been thinking of one of your FG beds, but I'm not sure of the future for this truck. I can't justify spending $2k on something that I might 4 link in the future, especially when the truck is only worth about that much.

I almost had a bed locally for $200 with zero rust, but someone beat me to it. It was my color (black) too.

I have heard rumors of ranger beds fitting to some extent but I do not know if it is true.

What about a bed off a Tacoma? There should be lots in the scrapyards now due to the frame recall. I know the filler door is on the wrong side but do the mounts and body lines line up?

That looks ok I guess, but the body lines are way off or you didn't put the body lift in the rear yet.

79-83 bed fits with mininmal mods , but body lines dont match
89-95 beds fit with 6 of 8 holes lining up this bed is 1.5" wider then stock , and lines "sorta " fit
Tacoms bed .. just looks dumb !!

ranger beds fit with major mods and fuel filler is on the wrong side .
nissan beds fit 4 of 8 bolts , no body lines match

i know this is an old post, but i'm using search ;-)
what about the 84-85 beds? i have a 1991 single cab, and i found an 85 extracab with a flatbed. i bet the extracab is gonna rule this out as a straight swap, but would a regular 84-85 bed fit?
will the flatbed off the extra cab fit? thanks

the cab length dosnt matter (with out getting to a crap load of detail) .. its the frame and bed length that you need to consider

there are 2 lengths ..... short beds , and long beds . interchange , short to short , long to long

Not to derail a 12 year old thread....but...
I looked at your fiberglass site and am glad these replacement parts exist.

I see you have 82-83 front bumper end caps and I wonder if you may have rear bumper end caps for the year '86.

I know I'm looking for the unicorn that belongs to Bigfoot, just thought I'd ask.
