Trouble with 94 22re

I had a leaky freeze plug that was on top of the tranny and my dad took it to work with him and changed it out for me. And then my truck started acting funny. I tried to gun it around slow people while going up a hill and was in second gear, when I cut over and tried 2 gun it it seemed to cut out and not go anywhere and then after like 2 seconds it came back to life and I blew by them, after starting to freak out it started to do it every time i gave it gas. Swapped out fuel pump and fuel filter and still was doing it, so on the ride home I tried redlining it to see if there was a bunch of carbon built up or something, and it seemed to run better after that, but I'm not sure but I think it might have just done it again on my way to work. Anyone have any ideas on what might be happening?
Thanks
Oh almost forgot to mention, when it would cut out it would shake really bad and a couple of times i got hit in the back of the head with my headrest because it shook so bad.

new diagnosis: it quit cutting out every time I shifted up or gave it gas, and now it just does it when I turn right and shift up. Anyone know what might be going on?

Start simple, make sure you have good spark, your timing is correct and all vac. hoses are hooked up correctly. Give it a tune up, put new spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc. Make sure your coil is not burned out, make sure your EGR is not plugged up and make sure your cat is not getting pluged up. Also might want to check the O2 censor.

These engines are pretty simple, so keep it simple and you should find your problem.
