Transmission Issues, Lose of Power

While I was commuting from work back to my house my 92' 4R loses power and just revs. My Speedo cable went tits up on me yesterday and the Check engine light popped on and I thought that was the reason for the CEL. I noticed that if I stopped the truck, the A340H would shift just fine but a few minutes after the check engine light coming on it loses power. I swapped my Shift Solenoids, Filter, and did a fluid drain and refill 6 months ago. My fluid is at the proper height, it is not burnt or brown.

I checked the torque converter in each gear with my foot on the brake and all seem fine. I did notice this last time trying to diagnosis this issue that my Speed jumped a few times and will flutter when the truck is in park. Could this be a TPS issue ?

Scan the code and see what you get first, hard to tell over the interwebz, it could be the tranny slipping, could be TPS maybe even something else.

Sounds to me like your electronic speed sensor broke.

Tranny operations here: http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1990-1995...1/operatio.pdf

Good Luck

Levinz you hit the nail on the head it seems, I just pulled a Diagnostic code "42" which is the No.1 vehicle speed sensor it seems. Now I just have to figure out how to fix this freaking thing.

Thanks for the help guys

I have an OD code for #2 speed sensor, which is in the speedometer itself. I have a 5 speed so it doesn't effect driveability. This thread might help you. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...ite-up-250730/
