Transmission interchanges

Quick question! I have a 91 22re pickup w56 tranny. Can I put a w56 from an 85 4 runner in it? It also was a 22re.

If they are original, you'd be replacing an A with a C.

Yes you can use it. But one is front shift and one is top shift.

Also, Keep the t-case with its trans, or you may have fork issues.

Try googling "w56 compatibility" to read many existing threads discussing this.

Ok so I have only the tranny for the 85 no t/case. So it's a no go correct?
