Transmission Help!!!!!!
Alright so here's my problem. Today I decided to take the truck out for siemens quick fun in the desert, but as I shifted into 4 wheel drive I felt a large jolt from the truck. So I got down to inspect the truck but evrything was perfectly fine until was leaving and set it back to 2 wheel and unlocked the hubs. As I was drivig off I felt the transmission shift into 3rd WAY to fast, I mean at 20mph it was already in 3rd gear.
PROBLEM:
So my problem is that the transmission is up shifting way to fast into 3rd gear causing me to pick up speed extremely slow. Reverse works fine. And oncei get to my higher speeds (45-50) where 3rd should shift from 2nd it works perfectly fine. So my problem is when I take off from a dead stop the transmission upshifts from 1 to 2 to 3 all before I reach 15mph
Anybody know what can be wrong and or is this fixable?????

Do you have a detent cable- cable from the throttle to the transmission? (Sorry, I don't have an early automatic to reference.)
If so, is it adjusted properly, broken...?

I think i know what you're referring to, do you mean the Throttle valve cable? If so then yes.
After doing a little research i found out that this is probably the best bet. Does anyone know how to properly adjust it?

From what I remember, there should be a boot on the end of the cable near the throttle. On the cable should be a piece of metal crimped to the cable, and that piece of metal should be flush with the end of the adjuster 'sleeve' with the throttle closed.
Don't know if that makes sense, but that's what I had to do with my 91 automatic 2wd.
