transmission adjustments

hey guys. how can i tell if the linkage on my transmission is properly adjusted?

1995 4Runner, 3.0 V6, 4x4, Automatic Transmission.

You want the little red indicator in the shift selector to be in full view when the tranny is in that gear. Easiest way is to loosen the adjustment bolt and put the shift level on the tranny all the way back into park and also put the shift selector in the cab into park. Then just tighten the adjustment bolt back down.

more details.

i guess i should have been more specific. i meant the kickdown linkage.. not the shifter linkage..
