transmission

I have a 1994 Toyota pickup. and ever since ive bought it my second gear is a pain to shift into. It will go in 2nd but I have to hold it just right and when I release the clutch it tries to pop out. if I hold it in gear and release the clutch it does fine. It don't try to come out of gear any other time, besides when I'm down shifting into 2nd gear, it does the same thing then also. Any idea on what my problem might be?

Could be bad shifter ball and/or seat bushing.

Common problem but cheap and easy to fix.

Then it also might be worn bearings which allow slight shifting of the gears .

Things pop out.

By chance does this have a body lift ??

At times a body lift moves things enough the shifter is hitting on sheet metal between the two levers
