Smile Trans Question

I have a 1988 4runner 22re with auto i have just picked up a 1986 toyota pick 22re with manual trans the motor is blown will swaping transmissions give me more power or is it worth it. they are both ifs trucks the 86 trans will fit a 88 4runner.

i would definitly swap trannys its not at all hard. as long as there both 22re there r many more upgrades for manuel trannys and it will give u better power to the ground.u already have a whole donor truck so all u need is a clutch kit.and maybe resurface the fly wheel.by the time ur power is pushed threw a autimatic u already lost a few horses and with not many to spare with a 4 banger u keep all u can.

depends on what u r going to be doing i like centerforce duel friction but the stock clutches r pretty good for everyday driving.

dont use the clutch in it no matter how good it looks get a new one.the extra comfort of knowing there wasnt a hairline crack in the old one is worth it.
