I have a used trailmaster lift I bought without front shocks. Tried contacting trailmaster with no reply, does anyone know what kind of shocks I can use? It is a 4 inch lift for a 86-89 IFS 4runner.

I bought my shocks (explorer pro comp) through the macromotive website (decent prices and free shipping at times).

Here is a link to the pro comp 3000 shock page:

You will see a bunch of part numbers at the bottom. Click each one and a new page will open and at the bottom it will have an application note. This will tell you how much lift the particular shock will work with. You can then go back to the main page and use the specs to check other manufacturers shocks (collapsed, extended...etc). This should get you in the ball park if the vendor won't respond.

Im not sure you already found out but here you go. Autozone sells trailmaster shocks at the store. They sell 2-4 inch shocks for lifted applications also other styles and sizes. I know they have it cause I just bought 4 and a steering stabilizer. They got a lot of stuff in the truck part of the store u-bolt flip kits, lift blocks for diffs, sway bar connects. hope it helps
