TPS setting wacky!!!

so i just installed a new tps on my truck and when i jump the yellow connection on the driver side fendere well the truck still does not drop idle... i cannot get this motor to run perfect, i hate going to mechanics but im contemplating it now.

with the plug jumped i set the timing at -5* Before TDC, and when i unplug the jumped connection it stays at -5* before TDC. its supposed to more to around -12* before TDC.

Truck is an 84 pickup 22RE

I also get a pretty wicked wobble in the shifter when driving and it mellows out once i push the clutch in.

ive read just about every TPS thread on the internet and still can get this thing to time correctly.

Please help before i go spend a couple hundred bucks at a shop

Maybe your check connector is corroded have you cleaned it??

It can be corroded and you can not see it with your eye .

So the truck won`t idle so you can`t check your Throttle Position sensor?

That has really nothing to do with timing.

Am I the only one that got confused with the negative switch used in the degree number before TDC?

I have always use +, Some may use it different.
