Toyota truck or 4Runner???

im selling my lifted s10 to get a toyota, and i dont know if a 4runner or just a toyota pickup would be better?? Im 16 and dont haul anything in my s10 exept a dirtbike a couple times. but it's only a single cab so i can only have 3 people in the truck, so thats why i was thinking 85-88 toyota plus they have the removable top for summer which is way cool, but are they too long for off roading??
and i could only aford a single cab if i got a truck. any pros or cons to these/ What would you do??

Thanks, Jared

the 1st gen 4Runner is not any longer than a std cab toyota pickup.
for around 500, you could get a 4x8 trailer to carry the bike.

hmm....
downhill with a tailwind, being towed by a 3.4 doesn't count.

I'm sure the 3.0 is very good for a few miles until the Head gasket blows

yep. the cost of head gasket replacement quite quickly overcomes any mileage benefit.

we're not fighting. it's all good fun and the like.
the 22re may be anemic compared to the 3.0, but not by much. both engines will last if maintained well, but the 22re is more than a tad more forgiving about pushing the limits than the 3.0 is.

well, I guess there's the option of a Dakota convertible if you like a truck and a soft top.

Hehe, yep. The 3.0 has its problems, but for what I get I still love it. Untill it gets pulled out for a 4.0L
