Trying to remove output shaft seal on 81 Toyota pickup, 2wd. 5spd. Just got the truck. Some one started to try smashed it all up... looks like a felt type seal. Any suggestions thanks...

 

If its what I think it is, there's a felt dust seal, retained by a metal collar, and then , behind that, there's a regular rubber type oil seal.

If the metal felt retaining collar is not totally mutilated, you can hammer it back into useable shape. You just gotta pry that stuff out.
