timing cover write-up?

Does anyone know of a good timing cover write up?

All I was able to find was headgasket and timing chain and since I'm on my blackberry its hard to go through hundreds of pictures that don't apply to what in doing.

Usually I would just dive right in but I read something somewhere about the top of the timing cover attaching to the headgasket and if your not careful it'll tear the headgasket anf I really don't want that to happen.

Help if you can please! Many thanks!

the reason why you keep coming up with headgasket threads with timing cover/chain replacement, it because technically it's supposed to be done with the head and oil pan off.

I did mine with the head on, however, because I tried to do mine in almost complete darkness I messed up the part of the headgasket between the head and timing cover and it leaked for months till I had to rebuild my entire motor because of a spun rod bearing. (had nothing to do with running the truck low on oil BTW)
