Thumbs down timing chain question

so I'm doing my head gasket and timing chain, i put the chain back on but I'm convinced either the cam or the crank moved during installation, how can i make sure the crank and cam are set in the right places. thanks.
most guides just seem to say don't move the cam or crank and don't say what to do if it happened. thanks for any help don't wanna bend a valve

Set the crank to TDC & see if the mark on the cam sprocket lines up
If not then turn the crank 360 deg and check again.
(turn the crank slowly by hand and stop if you feel something make contact)
